After a long absence, I shall take part in Cambridge Open Studios on the following weekends in July 2017: 8/9, 15/16, 22/23 from 11am to 6pm. My open studios will take place in Ely at my house/studio at the address shown below. All details will appear in the Guide published by Cambridge Open Studios, available free of charge from a great variety of shops and institutions throughout Cambridgeshire from early June onward.
This major event, which has become a feature of life in Cambridge and the surrounding towns and villages, has been going for nearly 40 years. From the early beginnings when six artists in Cambridge opened their studios to visitors, the numbers have grown to over 300 exhibitors. The city of Ely where I live and work has several highly talented people taking part this year. The city being compact and with relatively easy parking is a favourite destination for art lovers who can combine their visit to studios with a quick look at the cathedral and perhaps a meal at The Old Fire Engine House Restaurant or tea at Peacocks Tearoom. I really look forward to welcoming visitors again in my studio as I enjoy this informal occasion to see old and new friends, talk about and show my work in a less formal setting than a gallery. I will have a variety of pieces from small ones that make perfect presents, to more ambitious ones that you may wish to buy for yourself to grace and enrich your house for many years to come. There will also be the usual fun cards, silk and linen personalised spectacle cases, the odd cushion etc.
See you in July and let’s hope the weather co-operates and we can all share a drink in the garden!
